7/8 Panic mode.

[EDIT]: Lucy is a genius. She gave me the perfect idea and I can still use my character for it! I just.. have to soak it in water for an hour so to speak.
Theme: Standing up for yourself. (In a non-violent way of course.)

Eeeghh.
So. For the Children's Book class. I have ideas... but I don't know where to go.
I spent the last hour working at the spot illustration for that class. I probably won't be able to finish it tonight... unless I pull an all nighter which seems plausible for me.

Here it is... in color and with a background I'm going to change for the assignment. I was just experimenting.

Words surrounding it would be something along the lines of... "Reading takes you to different worlds."
I'm going to add some bio-luminescent bugs floating around. Some nymphs too. But... I should really just keep it simple because it's suppose to be grayscale. But I want to make a colored version for myself.

Now with the children's book. I really want to use that character above. Tetra.
She's suppose to be all clerical-like and a knowledge sponge.
I figure I would use her to teach about bugs... namely pollinators since I work at Old Westbury Gardens. And I recently did that coloring sheet for kids... so why not continue the trend?

But I also have other ideas. For my audience I'm gearing this more towards older children. Probably around 9-10 year olds.

It was suggested to me that I come up with a kid friendly story revolving around semi-chibified versions of my characters. That'd be neat and all but I doubt I would have time for that. Keep in mind that I only have three weeks to come up with a dummy of a book...

Keep It Simple. Keep It Simple. Keep It Simple.

Arrrrgh.
Hm! Maybe I could come up with a new shtick besides character I've already made. An Adventure Book! Hmmm!

Anyway. Random sketch below.

  1. Really late reply here, but I like the look of that button as is. Maybe brighten up Tetra's face so we can see it better (it's kinda hidden), but the painty effect with the smoke is pretty neat.
