So. I've been reading Drawing Words & Writing Pictures by Jessica Abel , Matt Madden (Who is my SVA Comic Storytelling professor).
Really sound advice about everything you need to know about comics... manga and whatnot.
I glanced ahead of what I had to read.
They brought up Scott McCloud's 24 Hour Comic invention. This seems like such a great idea. Of course, not all of us could devote 24 hour hours to making a 24 page comic. So. There is an alternative as Jessica and Matt suggested. A 3 page comic done in 3 hours.
This is without color btw. The idea is to come up with a story/characters.. thumbs. Pencil work. Layout 3 pages. And top it all off with inking your work. You don't have to color it because I believe that will add another hour onto the task.
This is something I would enjoy doing with friends.
Too bad I only know a few comic lovers! Some of which are here on the Internet!
Bah!
[edit]: Note: If you want to snack during the 24/3 hour comic session. Pretzels are advised. No grease!
