This was a pain to scan.

Thoughts.

After sketch post.

Okay. I've been thinking about this for a very long time. Heck, I draw the characters. I know them. Most of them by muscle memory by now.
I have written up at least three drafts. First one was way too clichéd. That was written over 7 years ago. Second one was during that whole accident time. I don't know what I was doing with it. Third was more recent and I liked where it was going. I could revive it.

Of course, alongside writing it out I would have to sketch out a lot of the ideas. I'm going for that story that's been lingering in my head ever since high school.
I want to do something great with it. This is my chance.

A different kind of post.

I haven't done this in a long time.
But... here goes.

I'm having a tough time typing up a prologue. It's just as difficult as starting a comic!
Anyway. I'll just jump right into it.

Runic Knights
==

It feels amazing to be back home in Cherrywood after many years holed up at the Runic Academy.

Cheyan dipped her quill pen in the small well of ink at her left to revitalize the feather. She continued to scratch ink against the journal's rough paper.

Ridley is here with me and

Just as Cheyan was about to touch the ink-enriched feather against the paper a loud shriek exploded just outside of the window to Cheyan's right. She slid out from the desk and stepped over to pane with the quill still in her clutches.

She was at the third floor of the Lotus Inn at the main plaza of town. It overlooked a large decorative fountain that held a rather characterized statue of the founder of Cherrywood. Beyond the fountain stood a large glass clock tower that pierced the night sky and reflected the brilliant orange planet that nearly took over the entire night sky, Syrtis.

Looking down, Cheyan noted an unfamiliar being on the cobblestone plaza below. She squinted her violet eyes to get a clearer view but something glossy was reflecting Syrtis directly into her eyes preventing Cheyan from getting a view.

"Mn.. Cheyan?" A soft voice inquired, "what was that?"

Cheyan turned her attention away from the window pane and over at her friend, Ridley, who had been sleeping.

A simple shrug was returned to Ridley and Cheyan looked back down at the square. The person was gone.

"Whatever or whoever it was," Cheyan started, "our fearless leader would have alerted us by now. Go back to sleep."
Ridley simply nodded and returned to her pillow. Cheyan reclaimed her seat at the desk and dipped the feather back into the ink well to revive the flow of words towards her journal.

Our Captain, Ren...

About half a page later.
Cheyan was purging her quill pen of ink when there was a loud knock at the room's door. She set the pen down and stepped over to the unlocked door, careful not to wake Ridley. At the other end in the hallway stood a fully prepared Runic Captain. Ren bit at the end of his unlit pipe and narrowed his eyes at Cheyan.

"Sir?" Cheyan inquired.

"There are some strange happenings taking place out there. Wake Ridley and get your gear on the double." Ren ordered. He had been taking watch during the night.

"Yes, sir!"

That's all for now.
