Ridley

(Ahlma and Cheyan too!)

But here's a Ridley post.
I originally came up with a Ridley character a few years ago back when I was dabbling with a chat based role playing game in the Final Fantasy Tactics realm of Ivalice.
Ridley von Clayborne. She was a Dark Knight who succumbed to a vampire... and thus, was a blood sucker. I don't recall what exactly happened during the course of the game. But I do remember someone got angry and posted an angry journal entry about how vampires do not exist in the Final Fantasy Tactics realm ...

Think about that for a second.

Anyway. I stowed Ridley for awhile after that game. I brought her back when I resumed writing for Cheyan. She became Cheyan's best and childhood friend. At this point, I ditched the vampire edge (Twilight came out about this time.)

Ridley was not intended to be fully human.. or as I call them now, Syrtian.
So, she had elfish ears.

I soon took a comic course at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. A perfect place for me to start drawing for this idea! After a few revisions I came up with a solid idea for demonesque species known as the varachians.
Ridley would be ousted as one by her kin at the end of this short comic.
I haven't looked back at that comic until now...

*Cough* It's pretty bad.
Anyway.

I contemplated continuing that comic but fell flat a few times. So I decided to start it again. And I did.
I didn't get too far, however... and about this time I really got interested in War for Arcadia.

But here are the three comic pages that I didn't get too far with.. but overall, I like how they were coming along.

And so. I started with WfA. At first, I was just going to use my primary character, Cheyan. But then I got this crazy idea of including Ridley. But I tied in the varachian concepts with her and POOF! She had horns, wings and a tail! Easily a favorite character of mine.

Inspired by the AWESOME Ben!
